Privacy notice
The short version: reading this site sends us nothing. The form sends us what you type into it, and nothing else.
Version 2026-09-18.2 · Effective September 18, 2026
What we do not collect
- No accounts. There is no login, no password, and no profile.
- No cookies of ours, no analytics, no advertising or tracking scripts. No Google Analytics, no tag manager, no advertising pixel, no external fonts.
- No uploaded documents. The site does not accept file uploads.
- No Social Security, card, or account numbers. The form has no field for one, and the server rejects a submission that appears to contain one rather than storing it.
- Nothing from an abandoned form. The form sends nothing until you press the button. If you start it and leave, we never know you were there.
What we do collect, and only when you send it
| When | What | Why | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|---|
| You send the form (step 1) | The kind of fee, the business and its location, the date, what the fee was called, the amount, where it first appeared, household or business, which documents you still have, whether you agreed to terms, your answer about age if you gave one, and your name, email and phone, and whether you checked the box saying we may call that number | So a law firm can check for conflicts of interest and then look at what happened | Madgett Law, LLC’s own encrypted store, and a private channel in the firm’s Slack workspace that notifies the lawyer |
| You send the second step | A few sentences if you write any, and whether you have complained to anyone | So the firm can evaluate a possible matter | The same two places |
| You load the form page | An automated-submission check (Cloudflare Turnstile) runs in your browser and sends Cloudflare technical signals about the browser and connection | To keep bots from flooding a form a lawyer reads by hand | Cloudflare, which also hosts this site. It runs on the form page only |
| Any page view | Standard server and security logs, including IP address | Security, abuse prevention, and keeping the site up | Our hosting and security provider, Cloudflare |
What we never do
- We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for anyone's advertising.
- We do not send anything to a law firm, or to anyone, unless you fill out the form yourself. Reading pages transmits nothing.
- We do not forward what you send to any government office. If you want a regulator to know, you tell them yourself.
- We do not tell the business you named that you wrote to us.
- We do not use what you tell us to train any model, and no software scores it.
- We do not build an advertising audience, a mailing list, or a retargeting segment from the form.
How long we keep it
| Record | Retention |
|---|---|
| What you sent in steps 1 and 2 | Kept as a record of what you sent and what you agreed to. Deleted on verified request, except the minimal conflicts record, which the firm keeps so that it can tell later that it must not act against you. |
| The conflicts record | Your name and email, the date, the kind of fee, and the business you named. Nothing else. Kept permanently. |
| Step-2 links | Expire automatically after 30 days, and stop working once used. |
| Security and audit logs | Retained on a documented schedule for security purposes, with sensitive content excluded. |
Getting a copy or having it deleted
Write to dmadgett@madgettlaw.com and include the reference number from your receipt. We will verify that the request is really from you before acting on it.
One limit worth being clear about, and it is a real one. Once you send us the form, Madgett Law, LLC holds what you sent under its professional obligations as a law firm, and those obligations sometimes require the firm to keep a record even after you ask it not to — a conflicts record in particular, which is what makes it possible to tell later that we should not act against you. So a deletion request removes the detail you sent; it does not empty the conflicts index. That tension is deliberate and it runs in your favour more often than not.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access is limited to people who need it. Every destination that receives anything you send is controlled by Madgett Law, LLC, and the firm keeps a written record naming who is responsible for reading each one. Submissions are logged.
The content security policy on this site permits no external origin at all, with one exception on one page: the form page may load the automated-submission check from Cloudflare. Everywhere else that is enforced by your browser rather than promised by us.
No system is perfect. If something goes wrong, we will notify affected people as required.
Children
This site is for adults. It is not directed to children.
Changes
This notice is versioned. When it changes materially the version number changes, and every receipt records the version that was in effect when you sent the form, so you can always tell what you actually agreed to.
