What Minnesota Junk Fees is

Minnesota Junk Fees is published by Madgett Law, LLC, a Minnesota law firm, and is attorney advertising. Madgett Law, LLC is a Minnesota law firm. We are evaluating whether these fee practices can be challenged in court on behalf of the people who paid them. We are looking for Minnesota consumers who still have their documents.

It is written by David J.S. Madgett, Minnesota Bar No. 390494, who is responsible for its content.

What it is not

It is not a government agency, is not affiliated with the Minnesota Attorney General or any other government office, and is not a legal aid or public interest legal services organization.

The Attorney General is somebody else

The Minnesota Attorney General is a separate government office that takes complaints from the public. Madgett Law, LLC is a private law firm and does not. Sending us documents is not a way to reach the Attorney General or any other government office: we do not forward what you send, and we share it outside this firm only as the notice above our form describes or as the Minnesota Rules of Professional Conduct permit or require. The Minnesota Attorney General’s own website.

What the form asks you to agree to

The form opens with a box, above its first question, and a checkbox you have to tick. Two of its four points are agreements. In the form’s own words:

3. You agree that what you send will not conflict us out. By submitting, you agree that nothing you send will prevent Madgett Law, LLC from representing a different client in the same or a substantially related matter, including a client whose interests are adverse to yours.

4. You agree we may use what you send. By submitting, you agree that Madgett Law, LLC may use the information and documents you send in evaluating claims, including claims on behalf of other clients, and may share them, in confidence, with co-counsel or consultants helping us with that evaluation.

A firm that hears from many people about the same charge cannot work any other way, and you should know it before you type anything. If you are not comfortable with any of this, do not submit the form.

About the form

We do not tell you that this firm is the best choice, the necessary choice, or the right choice for you. It is one option. You are free to take your documents to any lawyer, and free to take them to none — the Minnesota State Bar Association runs a lawyer referral service, and legal aid organizations serve people who meet their income guidelines.

We make no promises about outcomes

We do not promise that any fee was unlawful, that any case will be filed, that a case would succeed, that anyone will pay you anything, or that we will take your matter. Whether any of this applies to your situation depends on facts we have not seen.

Money

There is no charge for sending us documents, and sending them does not make us your lawyers. What Madgett Law, LLC sells is legal representation — only if you ask for it, only if we agree to take your case, and on fee terms set out in a written agreement before any work starts.

The firm receives no commission, affiliate revenue, or other payment from anyone for anything on this site, pays nobody for sending a reader here, and does not sell or share your information for advertising.

Where this is available

The guides are about Minnesota law and are for anyone to read. The firm looks at Minnesota matters only, because David J.S. Madgett is licensed in Minnesota and nowhere else.
